Anybody have a kid that’s struggling in kinder?

My daughter is 5 she is struggling in kinder her teacher is not the best as far as personality and I’ve boughten her ABCmouse program and she seems to be struggling still I’m freaking out she’ll repeat kinder should I change her from classroom or what? Im trying harder at home ugh I’m so stressed about specially with all the baby stuff coming too

I'm currently working with my son using a book called "teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons." He's a November baby, so he's 5, but still in preschool. We're not far in, but it's actually been great for us. He's retaining so much and really surprising me. It also addresses writing. It takes 15 minutes a day. My friend's son did it over the summer (same age) and he's reading at a 3rd grade level. 
As far as staying back, I was a June baby and I really wish my mother had listened when they wanted to keep me back in kindergarten. She ended up fighting it and I moved forward, only to struggle immensely in middle School.. By then I had already made close friends (still friends with them to this day) and my mom was worried about me losing them so she fought and I went ahead. I struggled in high school, barely graduated. I am a much better college student, but I joined the military out of high school because I thought I was too dumb for college. I went back 4 years later and forever and a day later graduated. 
I'm telling you this because if they do want to keep her back, PLEASE don't fight it. I really believe you'll be doing her a favor giving her extra time. I wish my mom had done it back in kindergarten. I can totally imagine the guilt I would feel if my son had to be held back, which I imagine was what drove my mom to push me forward, but you're not doing anything wrong, everyone learns at their own pace and an extra year could help her gain confidence and skills that she wouldn't have otherwise gained. Keep helping her, but don't beat yourself up.

One of my daughters had a similar problem in K ... she really struggled with reading etc her teacher was not great and I was really disappointed since at the time we live in the “best” school district in the state ! So what I did was order simple reading books from amazon ! Level A,B,C down to I think D we started with A and just started working and reading every single night more and more and by the time she reached 1 st grade she was on track with everyone else. Now she is in 3rd grade and on high honor roll testing above her classmates in reading and math . Not all teachers are great teacher unfortunately.

What exactly is she struggling with? Academically or behaviorally? One of the best things you can do for a child who is struggling in school is have an evaluation done by a psychologist. They can test children and find out if they have any specific struggles like ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, etc. Finding out exactly what the problem is, is the first step in getting a solution. A diagnosis can open the doors for lots of help. Look into IEP's and 504 plans. They can help a child who is struggling so much and give them accomodations.

Is there something specific she is struggling with? My stepson struggled with reading A LOT when he first came to live with us at the end of his kindergarten year and it took a lot of one on one time with him but now (he’s in third grade now) he’s one of the top readers in his class. I have some education background so I might be able to throw some tips or tricks your way, though every kid is different so I can’t guarantee it will help.
