12 weeks and still going strong!!
This is my first successful breastfeeding journey (baby #3) and so far, we have made it 12 weeks EBF!! I struggled at the beginning with engorgement and my little girl had a terrible latch. I was exhausted getting up every 60-90 minutes for feedings and I wanted so badly to rest and just mix up some formula but I didn’t. We did introduce a bottle (of breast milk) in the morning and night around 4-5 weeks in so that daddy could participate and mommy could pump to build an emergency stash... now after 12 weeks, I have over 300 ounces stored and my little girl is thriving!!
After such a terrible experience with my first two babies, I thought breastfeeding just wasn’t in my future..... but I was SO WRONG!! This time, I took a class, my now husband is incredibly supportive and encouraging, and I have a completely different outlook/result!
Long story short, don’t EVER give up! It’s the hardest thing I’ve done as a mom so far. I’ve got an almost 11 year old, a 9 year old, and a 12 week old and yet, I’m totally functional and feeling pretty great. I’m a little nervous to go back to work in 6 weeks BUT this time, I’m prepared!! Keep on keeping on ladies!! It’s worth it 😁😁😁
