Need An Answer!!

I wanted to skip my period this month, so when my 3 weeks of pills ended I started a new pack right away. My friend told me that for the next month my pills wont work. Is that true or should i not be worried? Im still taking them everyday at the same time. Ive been taking this BC for almost 7 months. Anybody have any experience with this? I dont want to get pregnant and condoms arent an option.
