How long should a man normally wait to propose?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 4 years almost,  we are TTC, we live together and have our lives established just like a married couple. He hasn’t asked me to marry him yet and i don’t say anything to him but it’s been bothering me so much like WHY? I’m basically his wife and he’s the one who wanted to TTC. Any advice?

My husband and I talked about it beforehand. We met online and we both knew we didn’t want to wait longer then about 2 years. It was very important to me that I was at least engaged within 2 years. He ended up proposing on the day we met 2 years before. We then had a simple intimate ceremony on the beach 2 months later and a family wedding on our 1 year anniversary. Things like marriage and kids are always best discussed early on to see if you’re on the same life path. To him he probably already thinks well we’re practically married anyway why propose. I would talk to him and explain how you feel. After that long together you should both know exactly where you are with marriage and kids- it’s surprising you haven’t discussed it with him. Be honest and let him know marriage is important to you. Marriage is so important for many reasons. Even if it’s in a courthouse with jeans and t shirt! Good luck talking to him!

My fiancee and I have known each other since we were 14&15 and he has been chasing after me since we met. Finally I decided to give him a shot, and fell madly in love with him. He came back into my life when I was in a dark place and became my best friend and rock. He told me when we got together to not expect a proposal until after we had been together for 3 years. We moved in together, adopted 4 cats, bought two cars. And then in October 2018 (3 years, 4 Mo this of dating) he took me to my favorite place to fish and popped the question! Every guy has a different time frame, plan for his future engagement. Maybe he's waiting to plan the perfect engagement for you! 💍💜

Why do you TTC with a guy that hasn’t even proposed?

You want to get married, have a talk to him before you have a baby. Let him know it's important to you. If he says he's not ready for marriage then he sure as hell isn't ready for a baby because a baby is a much bigger commitment than marriage. I would hold off ttc for now, until you know where you stand with him. You want someone that's going to be there, not get you pregnant and take off.
