I’m getting a massage tomorrow and I’m 7 weeks. Is it safe?

My obgyn rolled her eyes when I said a spa wouldn’t book me at 9weeks for a massage. She said “it’s completely fine and safe to have a massage”

It's safe to have a massage. I think the massage therapists are being extra cautious because miscarraiges are most common in the first 12 weeks and they don't want to potentially be blamed for it if it happened to one of their clients.

I think a lot of it has to do with raising your temperature too. I’ve had multiple masseuses not want to give a massage in the first trimester and even after that was told to avoid hot stones and heated tables.

My massage therapist won’t see me until my second trimester. It’s contraindicated.

I was told no in the first trimester. Most places will turn you away if you tell them you’re so early too

You aren't meant to have massages during the first 12 weeks. I contacted a spa as I was booked in for a spa day and this was confirmed.
It's not worth the risk x

I think as long as you tell the masseuse you are pregnant so they can avoid certain spots, you’re good.

I don’t think it’s recommended in first trimester because it supposedly contracts the uterus :/ I’m not sure though
