I just need a little clarification on how birth control pills work ladies! So do you suppose to take the pill everyday at the same time or you can take it when ever you want??

Combination pills have a +/-2 hour window for perfect use/99.7% effectiveness. After 2 hours is considered typical use/91%-92% effectiveness. And, 12+ hours difference is considered a missed pill. 
Mini/progestin only pills are typically much more time sensitive & have a 30 minute-1 hour window for perfect use/99.5% effectiveness. And, 3+ hours difference is considered a missed pill in which the pill is ineffective & backup protection or abstinence should be used for 48 hours. 
Definitely read the paper leaflet comes with ur pills to be more educated on those specific pills, as sometimes certain things can vary by pill brand.

Your normal cycle is a rise and fall of estrogen and progesterone. Those hormonal changes cause the body to ovulate and your period to come. 
Birth control pills provide a stable level of those hormones, so the body does not ovulate. Taking the pill at the same time every day means that the level of hormones provided by the pills stays constant. When you “take it whenever you want,” there could be times when the influence of the pills is reduced and your body could ovulate which is how people get pregnant on the pill. 
So take your pill every day at the same time for best results. If that doesn’t work for you, then try the arm implant or IUD which are two of the most effective forms of birth control that don’t require taking a pill everyday at a consistent time.

Combined pills every day at the same time for 21 days and then you have 7 days without the pill. You have a great chance of having withdrawal bleed during this time (feels like a period and looks like a period but a whole different situation happing inside you girl)
Progesterone only pills take every. Single. Day and with this pill it's more important that youtake it at the same time every day. You will not get your period nor a withdrawal bleed
