Wash baby clothes?

FTM here with a question? Do you have to wash baby clothes before they come? My mother and law and cousin said they never did with they’re kids so idk if I should do it or not

I washed everything with Dreft. 
Clothes, socks, bibs, blankets, sheets, etc.

I would you never know who touches the clothes at the store... or sneezes on them ect

Germs are not the reason you’d wash them. The real reason would be any chemicals left on them for manufacturing. So it depends on your preference. If you decide to wash I highly recommend you DONT use dreft. It’s pretty expensive and it’s also scented and not actually that great for sensitive skin. Any free and clear detergent will do.

Yes, but I only washed what baby will wear for now not everything I have in bigger sizes

I have and would. Sometimes clothes are sprayed with chemicals to preserve them in shipment. When I worked at Macy’s years ago the smell would make me sick, so I wouldn’t want that on my babies skin

Anything shipped from another country has to be sprayed with pesticides, so definitely wash before wear!

Yes...I’d wash them.  My MIL used to work in a factory where they made the clothes and she said they can end up on the floor and other dirty conditions.
