What would you ladies do?

So I'm 32 weeks pregnant and as we all know the doctor recommended us to get the TDapp whooping cough and Influenza shot which we did. The doctor also recommended anyone who is always around the baby get it too. Well my husbands parents are old and they get sick a lot cuz they are old. They are around us like 4 times a week. The Grandfather is ok with getting the shot. But the Granmother is saying No! I don't want her around my newborn if she doesn't get these shots. Everyone else got them. What should I do??

I'm a nurse and I'm not getting the vaccine. I have many allergies and reactions to other vaccines and being pregnant and risking an allergic reaction is not worth it to me. However my titers are through the roof and I will be breast feeding and passing on my immunities to baby girl. My husband cannot take a TdaP because he had Guillian barre as a child and it could either cause a multitude of issues or land him in the hospital very ill. Typically the best way to avoid that issue or any conflict would to not allow anyone that is sick around the baby and people who are not sick wash and/or sanitize before touching baby

We are saying "no vax, no visit," until baby has had his. There was an awful whooping cough outbreak in my city last year. If someone refuses, their visit will be short, they will be asked to wear a mask, and not touch baby's hands, feet, or faces

When my daughter was born, my husband and I were the only ones to get the vaccine. Since my son will born in late October, which is sick season, were having both sets of grandparents get the vaccine since they will be around him a lot.

You need to have your husband have a serious talk with them about it. He will need to lay down the law and tell her "if you don't get it you will not get to see baby." My husband had to have a sit down with his parents, and they finally came to terms with it.

She can't vaccinate herself, so she obviously doesn't want to see the baby that bad. Don't let him/her around her! End of story. That's what I would do.

Weird, I never even heard about this...? I live in Holland and my doctor never told me or my boyfriend
to get any sort of shot, nor to tell anyone else around the baby to get vaccinated. I've read all the books and leaflets I've been given about pregnancy and precautions and this is the first time in hearing about it...

"The Adacel vaccine is not approved for individuals 65 years of age or older." -Line 1, Section 8.5 of the Adacel vaccine package insert.

So they would both need the Boostrix brand vaccine- that doesn't say that. It just dived in on the case study for if for geriatric patients.

I mean...idk how old they but I'm pretty sure herd immunity is suppose to cover old people, too. So maybe let grandma off the hook. If you don't feel comfortable and she is insistent, talk to your doctor about it.

I don't plan on having anyone make sure they're vaccinated in order to see my baby so that's the best info/advice I can give. I hope it helps.
