Hands Falling Asleep

Erica

Anybody dealing with their hands falling asleep. I wake up in the middle of the night to pee and my hands are always tingling and asleep. Mostly my right hand, but my left does it too. It also happens sometimes when I’m not sleeping. Is this normal?

Yup every night. I’ll sleep on my left side wake up a couple hours later and my hand will be asleep sometimes other body parts. So I’ll roll to my right start and wake up a couple hours later and the same thing. It’s a routine all night long lol

Yesssss!!! I wake up multiple times a night with my hands asleep. I do sleep with them in funky positions like bent at the wrists under my chin so I think that’s part of it but also just pregnancy since it doesn’t happen otherwise.

This isn’t happening to me with this pregnancy but it happened with my first. It was a terrible feeling that some nights would almost have me in tears. It’s essentially carpal tunnel due to increase fluid in your body. My doctor recommended I buy a wrist band to wear while I slept. That did help some but also sleeping sitting up helped as well. The only way I could get comfortable was sleeping propped up on the couch. By sitting up the fluid won’t build up in your arms as bad. Good luck!

I have it too. It’s from all the swelling. Try sleeping with your arms straight out and don’t bend your wrists or elbows. My doc said that it’s fairly common. There are wrist braces out there that keep your wrists from bending and cutting off the circulation. I haven’t bothered though... I usually have to get up to pee by the time my arms fall asleep anyway 😭

Yeah, it might be the beginnings of carpal tunnel. I have it too. My midwife suggested buying a body pillow and that’s helped a bit. In our case, only thing that will make it go away is giving birth 😂

I get the same thing lately. I read somewhere that it’s due to the blood circulation. Basically The baby is sucking us alive.

That’s how I feel with my feet. They’re always tingly and falling asleep.
