Iron infusions??

Kristina

Anybody ever have to have these? How often? I was just told my hemoglobin was low and needed to take iron supplements and also need to meet with a hematologist to get started on iron infusions. My first pregnancy, I did have low iron and ended up needing blood transfusions after my csection. My first delivery was a nightmare. Went in bc my water broke, 25 hours of labor, 4 hours of pushing before they finally did a csection. Then my blood pressure tanked afterwards, needed 3 liters of blood. I've been terrified ever since of having this baby. Especially since I'm already has big as I was when I delivered my first and I'm still 3 months away. She was a big baby and I think this one will be too. Obviously it will be a straight csection and I'm super glad they are taking it more seriously this time. I switched obgyns and I'm SO glad I did. But I was wondering if anybody has ever had these? I also failed my 1 hr glucose test by 2 points, so have to do the 3 hr. But I have no reason to believe I'll fail that one *fingers crossed*
