LABOUR STORY - 38 WEEKS AND 2 DAYS INDUCEMENT-TMI PHOTOS
So due to preeclampsia I was scheduled to start my inducement January 7th 2019.
I went in and everything went normally. My husband came and spent the night with me that Monday eveing while they started contraction drugs.
That night they suggested taking ambien to help me sleep. I didnt want to because I have insomnia and have very specific meds I have to take for it. Since the pregnancy, I hadnt had to use those medications and they ended up expiring.
I at first didnt want to take the ambien but it was suggested that I did, so that I could get some rest for the next day.
I agreed.
That morning the nurses came in to start the process of delivery. My initial plan was to not get an epidural.
That went south really quickly.
First off, the ambien was not a good idea and I couldnt stay awake. I kept dozing off. Constantly.
Then, they started the meds that make you drunk, kind of to take the edge off a bit. And at 3 cm dilated, I fell asleep.
I woke up at 7 cm dilated.
Because I was already like a trashed white girl at a bad new years party, my brain and body were not on the same page. To suddenly wake up to that pain and not be coherent was insane.
To be honest, I dont remember alot of what happened during delivery.
My husband said I kept "swiftly" changing positions and kept scaring the living hell out of the midwives with my sudden aerobics.
They apparently got quite the kick out of me.
Anyways when I woke up at 7cm dilation, as stated, I wasnt coherent. I made it to an 8, whilst trying to get my shit together.
I ended up getting an epidural.
Afterwards I was finally able to relax and enjoy my baby girl coming into the world.
My entire labour lasted only 4 1/2 short hours, thank god.
I was pretty impressed with this being my first baby.
Alot of everything I really wish I could remember but I cant. Thank god I had a close friend there to take photos.
The rest of the day I spent sleeping off those god forsaken sleep meds.
But here she is, healthy and happy.
