Is it possible?

The guy I’m with is my first love, and I’m really hoping he’ll be my last. I’m 18 and he’s 20. He’s had relationships before me, but he’s my first. He and I talk about marriage and kids and the future, but I’m worried. A lot of people in my life tell me ‘you never get it right on your first try’. Do you guys think staying with your first love is possible?

LOTS of people have stayed with the first person they’ve ever been with. I will admit that most people don’t, but it’s not as if it hadn’t happened before. 
The only way for you two to stay together is for the two of you to make it work. If you really want to be with him and he wants to be with you, the two of you will make it work.

My dad was 18 and my mum was 28 when they got together. My dad is now 52 and my mum is 62. They are still madly in love and the cutest couple I know. It’s definitely possible, but don’t beat yourself up if it doesn’t work out like that. I didn’t stay with my first partner. Or second, third or fourth, for that matter. People grow and change and sometimes it takes them in different directions and that’s ok too.

We got together when I was 19 and he was 21. We meet through friends whilst on holiday and thought it was just going to be a holiday fling. I'd never been in a relationship before, just odd dates here and there whereas he'd been in 2 serious relationships. But 8 and a half years later we're engaged and in the midst of buying our 1st house together and planning our wedding!

He had two kids. 8 years later we reconnected and are now living together and more in love then before. Sometimes relationships work the first time around and sometimes they don’t. All I know is if it’s meant to be you’ll always find a way back to each other.
