Baby clothes

Silly question, but I’m ftm:)

What are your babies wearing during the day? And how often you change their outfits (assuming no diaper blowouts!)?

My 3 month old is pretty much always in sleep and play footies, I put new one on her after bath before bed and she spends the whole next day in it. She doesn’t crawl yet, so she is either in her crib, in the bouncer or on the play mat. When we go out I put warm outwear on top.

I got SO MANY cute outfits - gifts and purchases, but I feel like she is always rotating like 5 footies and most of the stuff she has either doesn’t fit anymore or has been worn once ...

Once she starts crawling I’m planning on changing her into sleeping pjs so she doesn’t sleep in the crib in the same outfit she is on the floor...and once she is eating solids, I’m sure there are more opportunities to get dirty so she’ll be changed way more often.

Anyway - bottom line Do not buy/gift baby so much clothes (how can you resist though!)...

I put my son in a outfit every morning, pants onesies, tops sweaters etc. even if we don’t leave the house 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think it’s cute. Then every night change him again into a footie pajama

Thank you!! Most of the jeans are those stretchy fake jeans that are basically sweatpants. We usually stick to mostly sweatpants, since that’s what I’m usually in I feel bad dressing him up too much! I save the jeans for friends or family coming over, or photo ops! I try to keep it to one later on him bc he is warm also! But we are in upstate NY where it’s super cold out! Even with the heat on we don’t keep the house too warm so he’s usually good in sweaters and long pants!

My kiddo only wears pjs at night time but my friend has hers in them literally all the time. I love putting him in a new outfit everyday 😊 also, he loves to play with his toes and is always taking his socks off so I can’t imagine how sad he’d be if I had him in footies all the time. Also can control temperature better that way since my little man runs warm so when he gets too hot I can just take his pants off for a little bit!

My son is usually in footies whenever we’re home or if we’re going out and he’ll be staying in his car seat. He gets new ones on before bed. If we have an appointment or are going to be seeing family I usually put him in a cute outfit. He’s my third so I definitely don’t have an over abundant amount of outfits. I think I only have 5 in the size he’s wearing right now. But we have about 18 pairs of footie pjs 🤣

Well... it is easy to go overboard with girls! 🤣 when I had my daughter I went a little crazy too.. but she only ended up wearing half. Luckily I was the manager at Carter’s when I was pregnant with her so I got a good discount 🙌🏻

Omg when I was pregnant I was swearing I won’t be buying extra unnecessary stuff...oh well... she wears cute outfits when we go out, and I don’t have time to change her just for fun to take million photos lol...so all cute outfits were used once top (if lucky!)

Lol. I'm with you. My girls had all these cute clothes that they barely wore, because footies are awesome! I change my little guy once a day unless he spits up or we are going somewhere. Then most of the time he's in the footless one piece outfits lol.

I work from home and her dad works shift work, so primarily is home with me or dad when I have meetings. But every morning we get up get diaper changed, suck out any boogies she might have, washer face, get a cute outfit put on, do her hair, and sometimes brush her gums (checking her teeth since teething so bad). She has only been in footies all day 2x (dad was home with her). This is only because I am a very routine person and do want her to have a routine. We do also have a bedtime routine but won’t go into that 😂.But my brother and sister in-law son (parents have same job situation as us) who is only 4 month old primary is always in footies all day because she feels it’s pointless sometimes when they aren’t going anywhere. Here are just a few more recent pics of our little cheese ball!

They are fleece lined but yep she has no problem sleeping in anything 😂 including her chair and jumper, but I think that’s probably just because we started that the day she came home from NICU and they did it the last day there also!

Omg adorable!! But is she comfortable sleeping in denim bib overall? Or you change her before naps? My girl is mostly hanging in the bouncer, on the play mat or in her crib with on/off naps in between, so she needs to be in nap ready clothes all the time 😂😂😂 and I feel like all these buttons might be disturbing

How do you guys change diapers in footie pjs? I feel like it is difficult and I am missing a trick

I change her outfit every day (drool/ spit up/ milk dribbles) but my husbad just leaves her in footies! And he will for like 3 days if i dont change her. Its annoying lol. We recently started taking her to daycare and i like to change her after too. I mean unless we are going somewhere i change after i get home too. Lol it's like i have "home" clothes and "outside" clothes. So currently its about 1 outfit a day.

Oh yea I’m with you in “home” and “outside” clothes. I can’t lay in bed in jeans lol or anything I wore outside!

I put him in whatever is clean 🤷🏼‍♀️ I love footie pajamas but I didn’t want anything to go to waste so we used everything. Mine has quadruped in size since birth so I’m growing out of outfits faster than I can put him in any.

My son gets hot so easily so he’s usually in a long sleeve or short depending on the temp that day onesie and if we have to go somewhere, I throw sweatpants on him or cute joggers. Footie pjs at night but we keep our house between 74-75 degrees usually so he’s fine in just onesies. I’m in leggings and a t shirt usually or shorts so I figure I want to be comfortable so he probably does too 😊

Long sleeve onesies and sleepers are the best! I see no issue with it. I do try to put shoes on him and make his outfits cute when going out but at home, he’s a comfy little one. Haha

We are in NYC and it’s def no t shirt wether over here 😩😩😩. The worst is when we go outside and she is all bundled up in the stroller and we have to go inside (store for example) and it’s super hot inside... we keep around 68 in her room at home, and she is fine in long sleeves cotton onesie, she hates being too warm

I change clothes more of the sake of routine! Like she could stay in her jammies, that'd be fine.... but I feel like the sooner we start things like getting dressed in the morning, brushing teeth, bedtime routine...the easier it will be when you actually really need to do those things! But that's just my take on it 😊

I never dress her in anything that would be uncomfortable! So stretchy pants, a roomie romper...its pretty cold here so she cant be without pants but we dont wear little jeans or uncomfortable dresses. And at nighttime it's either a onesie in a warm fuzzy sleep sack or footie jammies in one of her thinner sleep sacks.

That’s a good point! Do you do separates (like onsie +pants for the day and then one piece pj for the night?). I feel like she is so much comfortable in footie now that she is almost always laying down 😩
