I had my son on Saturday night via csection 1/19. That night he latched and the following day we continued to try but he just wasn’t getting anything. Had the lactation consultant in many times and help with options. My milk still hasn’t come in but my boobs are rock hard. I have him latch every time he’s hungry to help but still no milk. Am I just out of luck?

If you’re breasts are hard it’s because your milk came in. He’s likely just having trouble latching while you’re engorged. Look up reverse pressure softening to help him latch easier.

Take a hot shower, hand express before latching, massage from your armpits in towards your nipple, and if it's just a latching issue you could try a nipple shield

If your boobs are hard your milk is in! Place warm wet towels on then and very gently massage down towards the nipple and keep trying with the latch

had the same issue and had a c section as well. it took really long but stay consistent. i always let her drink, then formula, then pumped. i put her whenever she wanted and let her use me as pacifier too. fenugreek, tea, water... massaged my breasts.. i guess all that helped. we are formula free now!! we used lansinoh bottle to avoid confusion. worked perfectly.

Just keep in mind that your baby is more efficient than a pump. He will be able to extract more milk than a pump ever could. These will help you too.
