Am I getting a transvaginal or abdominal US?

They asked me to drink 32 oz of water before my appointment. I’m 9w5d

They are trying the abdominal ultrasound first. If they cannot see anything, they will have you go to the bathroom and then do a transvaginal ultrasound. I’m 12 weeks and 4 days and I had a transvaginal this past Tuesday because the baby wasn’t moving enough to get proper measurements at my high risk appointment.

I was told to have a full bladder for my first ultrasound with all 5 of my kids which was done transvaginal. I’ve heard of them doing this for both. I would assume since you’re 9 weeks that it’ll be transvaginal

I’ve had a ton of transvaginal ultrasounds and they’ve always offered for me to empty my bladder before. The only time they’ve said to come in with a full bladder is for abdominal. The full bladder shifts the uterus to give a better view.
