Cooking for him

So ive recently started cooking for my bf since we got our new plave i cooked for him maybe three times throughout our whole relationship but he didnt know my mom helped me. Anyways our first apartment meal i made porkchops, macc and mash didn't burn it 😁😁 but ik my meat was over cooked and season in my opinion but he claimed it was good , yesterday i mad shepherd pie, it was underseaoned he covered with hot sauce nd salt nd said it was good, idk if im being harsh on myself or if he lien idk should i just stick to going out, make him tell the truth or just keep cooking and hope it's actually good lol
