False sexual assault accusations
Sorry long post!
Iwork at a walk in clinic.
I was busy rooming patients, so I called back this couple ( side note our rooms are small just counter, bed and a chair and I have a large chest so I always make sure to put space in between me and the patient). I have him sit down on the bed, I try to make small talk but he’s not very friendly so its uncomfortable, I ask the questions needed for the provider. I go to grab his vitals, which is the only time I have to physically touch him is to get blood pressure., and notice two huge swastikas on his arm so I’m taking aback. I tell him there is a little wait for the provider he says thanks we smile and I leave. As I’m charting at my desk his girlfriend goes to reception and ask for my name. I interrupt and tell her my name. I knew at this point she was up to something. The provider goes in and orders a shot, I go ahead and draw up the shot and I mention to the provider the girlfriend probably doesn’t like me and probably will complain. We laugh I go in the room to tell him the injection is in his butt, he basically screams at me so I say okay it’s against protocol but okay I can go in your arm. I give the injection ( takes some time cause I’m double checking my placement) and he leaves. Maybe 10-15 min later my coworker grabs me and tells me the police are here for me.
The officer is very nice, he explained that the man said I sexually harassed and assaulted him. That I repeatedly rubbed my breast against him then tried to feel on his butt. His girlfriend completely agreed and said I made her uncomfortable by touching him. The officer didn’t believe him and felt like he wanted to press charges because he was a little prejudiced towards me and paid a lot to see a provider who did not give narcotics. The officer reassured me that he would not press charges but that’s something I’ve never experienced before!
I am overly panicked that someone would make those accusations. With the climate of today’s society that’s a very strong accusation to make, especially on a health care worker!
