IUI before LH surge.

So I took Femara cycle days 5-9, and started tracking ovulation almost immediately. On the 13th day of my cycle, I saw my RE to get a transvaginal ultrasound to track my follicles. I had a 21 mm follicle on my left ovary and an 18 mm follicle on my right ovary. My RE guesstimated that I’d ovulate by (today) Thursday, so I was to schedule an IUI at the first sign of a LH surge on an opk. Here’s the issue: I had a tubal repair to fix my only remaining Fallopian tube last year. The doctor who performed the surgery does free aftercare services to help those who have struggled to conceive, so I needed to travel from where I live to the state where I had the surgery done. I had to request off work at the last minute, and when my boss asked which days I needed off, I didn’t want to explain to her all the details about why I was requesting days off, so I told her Wednesday (1/23) and Thursday (1/24). My husband who makes his own schedule, requested those days off, too. So I’m taking opks every day and they were just getting lighter and lighter. But it’s too late to rearrange our schedules. So we left last night to head to another state several hours away, and my IUI was this morning. I was praying the whole time that I’d wake up to a positive opk, but it was just as light as it had been the previous day(s). At this point, we couldn’t back out of the IUI, because we had taken the time off work and had driven states away for my appointment. I got the IUI around noon, and then we headed back home immediately after it was done. It’s 9:30 pm (CST) where I live, and as of moments ago, I got a positive surge on an ovulation test. Am I too late or is there any hope that the sperm will still be alive when I ovulate?

ETA: I forgot to mention my husband had to have his sample washed because he has low morphology.
