Some Advice; Don’t let anyone bring you down, be proud of your body and who you are!
So I figured I would share this with y’all because I have been through a lot and people say I inspire them. I hope it helps y’all if you are struggling with self esteem, confidence, courage, etc.
So I was born with a skin condition and only one in half a million people have this skin condition the way I do and it is a giant birthmark called a Nevus with smaller ones everywhere else. I’ve had 20 surgeries my entire life and I’m only 17 a senior in high school, most of them were because of my birthmarks. I also have one on my brain which is why I am epileptic and I have 4 learning disabilities but I still go to a college prep high school and am doing good.
I have been made of my entire life because of my birthmarks and scars. I’ve heard it all did you fall in mud, have the chicken pox, paint on yourself, some guy even walked up to me in the mall and called me an ugly ass bitch. I remember in pre-K I came home crying to my grandmother because the other kids were making fun of my birthmarks and she told me, “if they aren’t willing to get to know you for who you are they aren’t worth your dadgum time!” She is the reason why i choose my friends wisely and you only need a few true friends. One of mine is Cassie and she has been through everything with me.
No matter what happens, pick yourself back up and keep going that is what makes you stronger, if you show them you care that is what will make them want to continue picking on you. Surround yourself with people who really love you and care. Don’t let anyone bring you down, be proud of who you are and your body because you were born that way for a reason.
This is what I look like with the birthmarks as a baby and me now also a conversation between me and Cassie showing how supportive a true friend is, she is my best friend we met freshman year.
