How much milk?

My son is almost 2 and I give him a 8 Oz bottle before nap and another before bed (then brush his teeth). He’s not a big eater. He grazes throughout the day. His weight is fine and check ups ok. Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat! How much milk/bottles is everyone giving? Hoping he naturally gains interest to eat normal meals and drop his bottles! I feel bad cutting him off his normal all day grazing routine and comfort bottles 😞

Every little is different so don't feel rushed. If your small human is growing well and hitting his milestones don't listen to anything but your gut and what is working for your family. My April guy was a touch me not sleeps better alone in his crib guy from about 2 months and, decided at 5 months he was over the boob and wanted only formula and baby food and then at 8 months he was done with formula and wanted sippy cups with water or milk but mostly real foods but his older sister was a co-sleeping super snuggle me booby babe for 22 months that just grazed throught the day and then she took a bottle in the morning and at night while starting to sleep in her own bed. That continued until about 2 and a half for her. Every baby is different and I'm sure you're doing what's best for him.

My daughter prefers water to milk. She gets a cup at lunch and then finishes that cup before bed. She doesn’t drink a ton at all. She eat good and loves yogurt and cheese so her doctor said not to worry about her not getting enough.

I dont have a great eater, but I do try to limit milk as much as I can. There are days my son asks for more and more and more. Lol. But in general, we do about 3 oz 3x per day in a sippy. If you're still using bottles, transition now and that might reduce the amount your son wants to drink right off the bat. As for grazing, try to naturally transition over to a more meal-based eating routine, and eventually, I'm sure he will catch on! Maybe start by combining several of his usual snacks into 4-5 eating sessions, then drop that back while incorporating larger meals in between the snacks.

My little one doesn’t drink milk at all. I’d prefer her have yogurt anyways as it’s fermented and has probiotics. So she has yogurt daily, cheese and leafy greens which are a good source of calcium too.

My daughter still drinks a ton of milk 🤦🏽‍♀️ she just loves it haha she doesn’t eat a ton..she’s never been a good eater unfortunately! It’s so hard to break!

Bottles were gone at 12 months as soon as he went off formula. As for milk he typically gets one cup per day after he eats his breakfast, any more than that and his eating is terrible for the day. Too much milk isn't great for them as in some cases it can lead to iron deficiency anemia.
