Have you done this?

So my husband bought our son some Air Force shoes of course we got them big since he hasn’t taken any steps yet but we wanna save them until he starts walking that’s why we bought them a bigger size. Well his first birthday will be in a week. Is it weird if I wrap his shoes as a birthday gift? I mean his dad bought them and we already saw them. Idk I just want to add an extra gift for my son even though his not going to fit into them for awhile
