How do you get over your first love?

Me and my boyfriend just broke up.. He was my first love. We were together for almost 2 years. I feel completely broken. How do I get over this feeling and him?

My first love and I were together for almost 3 years and that was over 10 years ago... I still have feelings for him even though we haven't seen each other or spoken since we broke up. I don't think it ever goes away completely but you will come to a point where you can move on and not think about it every day.

I don't think you do.. That person will always have a special place in your heart. I have been happily in a relationship (and now 22 weeks pregnant!) for 3 years. I'd never think about going back with my ex, but he still has a place in my heart and I think he always will. We weren't meant to be so things ended and thankfully I met my soul mate ?

They don't ever leave your heart. My first love and I still talk here and there and there is always comfort to hear his voice or just text him sometimes. I live with my boyfriend now who I love dearly and wouldn't trade for anything. However, the first still always has a special place in your heart.

I know it sounds cliche.. But time, time not talking, time away, time apart.. I feel embarrased but I didn't have a first love until I was 25. It only lasted a little more than a year but I was madly in love with him. We've been apart for almost a year & haven't spoken in about 8 months. I know I don't love him anymore but i do still think about him. Because of certain issues of him damaging my property & refusing to return things of mine, it got pretty hostile & I don't hate him but I think he hates me. It actually hurts the most knowing this is what it ended up being.
