Big Wedding Or Courthouse?

I don't exactly know how to go about planning a wedding . I was also thinking a smaller or courthouse wedding would be a big money saver. If your married, what kind of wedding did you have and did you feel it was fun and special or frustrating; but still special, Of course. What would you prefer ? To save money but be extravagant.
