Date of Conception?!

Hey Ladies! So I am trying to figure out when I conceived.. only reason is because my husband and i didn’t start trying until September 29 - October 5. 
That is the week I ovulated and was fertile. 
I am 18 weeks tomorrow. When I try to figure out the date I conceive, if I count from the week I tried then I would really be 16 weeks. If I’m going with my baby’s “age” then I would have conceived September 22... 
Also, the first day of my last period was September 17 which would put me at 18 weeks and 4 days and that’s not how far along I am..  
just a little confused. We were safe until that week we started trying, unless it’s an oopsy baby and coincidently started trying about a week after.. and I also know I could’ve ovulated early or late... but even then not sure how the calculations work.

Conception date would be around 2 weeks after the first day of your last period. Doctors use the first day of your last period as the beginning of your pregnancy because most women know when that date is rather than the actual conception date.

Like everyone said, the weeks are calculated from the first day of your last period, but this is based on a general rule of thumb that most women ovulate 2 weeks after that. So if you tend to ovulate a bit later, which is perfectly normal, that makes it a bit less accurate, and that's why mesuring the baby on the earlier scans can put you more or less further along.
For reference, my own last period started on September 22nd. We did an IUI on October 4th, which was day 14 of that cycle for me, so I'm 100% that's the day we conceived. And baby measured right on track on all ultrasounds, which puts me at 18w1d today. So I'd say your conception date would be around October 4-5 as well 😊😊😊

Your baby is as far along as your dr said in beginning ultrasounds...I wouldn’t worry about date of conception unless you’re unsure of paternity

So to give an idea heres how mine played out. I actually had a chemical pregmancy September 13th which would be considered my LMP. I used ovulation tests and got a positive October 1st. Based on our US tho it looks like actual ovulation was October 3rd. I am due June 26th and was 18 weeks this past Wednesday. So based on my LMP I should be a week later but since I know I ovulated late its easily explained. So you probably just ovulated a little later

I’m 18 weeks and I know when I conceived cause it was via IUI and it was October 6th. If you put in your due date on a calculator on the internet it should give you a conception date

My last period was September 10th. I conceived on September 24th. And I am considered 19w5d

Unless you recorded when you had sex and pinpointed ovulation with an ultrasound, or OPKs then there is no exact way to tell. I had sex on October 2nd and didn’t ovulate until October 4th/5th (pinpointed by OPKs). I got my positive pregnancy test on October 15th! It was the only time I had sex since my last period and until my positive test so I knew exactly when I conceived. My period was due on the 20th but obviously didn’t come and the OB states your technically 4 weeks pregnant already by the time of your missed period. I’ve always found it quiet bizarre but guess it’s the way it works out.
