I have had a spinal, epidural and general. General was the worst. The spinal was the best. Trust me, you want to hear your baby cry for the first time. I am TERRIFIED of having it done again but then I look at my other kids and think “yeah I’d do that in a heartbeat for them”. Nothing is rushed so just relax. It’s never pleasant having surgery but just think, they do them ALL the time and people still have more kids so it must not be all THAT bad. It’s the best when you’re in the recovery room with your brand new baby and everything is all done. I can’t wait for those moments.

I have had both and I prefer the spinal because I don't get sick. I vomited both times I had the epidural. I am having a caesarean on the 14th of February, I chose the spinal. This is what I received from the anaesthetist. I hope it helps you. Xx

I had a spinal for both of my c sections. Will be having another in a few weeks for baby 3. I think a general would be terrible because i need to know what is going on and if the baby is ok.

I’ve had spinal twice now for my c sections and will be having it done again in a couple weeks I couldn’t imagine being put to sleep and miss hearing my babies first cry 😢

I voted wrong accidentally. I meant to pick spinal. It is preferred because general crosses the placenta and will make the baby drowsy. That’s why it’s mostly used in an emergency, and in that case they do the whole process so quick and the time the baby is influenced by the drug is minimised. I’ll be having a spinal, I’m scared too! But it’s what is best for the babies
