Ladies, don’t wait until last second to get out your car seat! We decided to get ours out last weekend during a snowstorm (because there was nothing else to do) and we are so thankful we did! Our base was not completely assembled and if we had waited until little man arrived, we wouldn’t have been able to bring him home in it. This is from the Graco Snugride Snuglock 35 LX (a $200 car seat). I have contacted both target (where it was purchased) and Graco about it just to get the base replaced. Both companies have been AMAZING and are sending us a whole new car seat and base to replace it without requiring us to send the damaged one back first (Graco is requesting we send back the damaged one after we receive the new one).

Long story short, get your car seat out and check it over COMPLETELY! I would’ve never thought about looking at the bottom of the base until it wouldn’t sit even on my hardwood floor.
