*possible trigger warning* Would you stand by your friend?

🦇𝓡

So let's say you've been best friends with a couple for years upon years. You get a call from person A in the couple saying person B was brutally murdered. Person A ends up getting arrested for the murder of their SO. You know their relationship wasn't in the best state and there was suspicion of Person A being abusive towards Person B (we all know people wouldn't be friends with an abuser, but for the sake of the hypothetical, let's just go with it). You have two choices. You could

A. Join the legal team of your best friend and stand by them. This means you won't have to testify about anything that could possibly incriminate your friend. Its a highly publicized case and has the potential to ruin your life. It causes a huge rift in your family as not everyone agrees with your decision to stand by the suspected murderer. It is a huge stressor.

B. Walk away from the case and your friend, leaving them to deal with it on their own. This means you could be called to testify and possibly incriminate your friend. The media could take this as a sign of your friend's guilt that you're unwilling to testify.
