Morning sickness medicine

Since my morning sickness has worsened at 16 weeks and some days I can't keep anything down my doctor prescribed zofran. It helped tonight but then someone told me it causes birth defects. Another friend said diclegis I think is safer. Please help! Now I'm super worried I took zofran. Thank you.
