Help! Is the Pill causing problems?

I was on the Depo shot for about 9 months, but I never stopped bleeding. It was like 9 months of straight bleeding so my doctor switched me over to the pill. I've been on it for over a week, and about three days ago my womanhood started to itch SOO bad. I take showers regularly, and I even bought some cortisone cream for the downstairs as well as vagisil anti itch wipes. Nothing seems to be working. Could the pill be causing it? And how do I stop the itching?!?
