Can a mixed (black and white) person have a say over black issues since they're half white?
I am half black and white. I like to speak out about injustices within the black community and stand behind my black brothers and sisters. I have experienced racism myself and hate due to my color. Many black people welcome me with open arms, but there are some black people who don't like me due to me being half white. For example, this black man tonight said I need to mind my business and that I can't speak up for injustices towards black people because I am considered white since I am mixed with white and come from the oppressors. I disagree with his statement saying that I am considered white to society when on all my medical, legal, and related documents I have been put down as black since my dad is black and everyone I know considers me colored. Either way, I am mixed with both. Is his way of thinking true though?
