A woman is built to reproduce until she reaches menopause. Definitely not too old, however age does increase the risk of miscarriage and other risk factors. So it's not that 39 is too old to have children, it's just that it can increase the risks of complications.

Thank you all for the kind words and your thoughts. My partner and I have been trying for over 10 years. In April of 2017 we had a very unexpected surprise, since we really weren’t “trying” anymore since absolutely nothing was happening...we were pregnant! Unfortunately on May 4th we found out that it was ectopic and I had surgery on the 5th. I not only lost our baby but my whole left fallopian tube. We have been on fertility meds (4 rounds) and have recently been getting acupuncture treatments 4 times a month....but nothing yet. I’m just having a really hard time with my 39 birthday coming up the first week of February...I’m just really feeling like I’ve completely run out of time 😔 We really wanted to have a few children by now and my clock is ticking like crazy now. Reading your comments is giving me a bit of hope that we could still have our dream family. Thank you again ladies ❤️

39 is not old! My sister just had her youngest at 40. My stepmom at 42. Coworker 45.
