Our miracle- Birth Story
It’s been a crazy two weeks already and our little girl, Nora, is keeping us on our toes.
I chose an elective induction with my favorite provider at 39wks on Jan 7th. They started the process at 6pm using Cytotec because I wasn’t dilated and baby hadn’t dropped. At 7am the next day, I still wasn’t dilated at all. I was given the option for epidural and to try to get a foley bulb in or c section. There was no guarantee foley bulb would work and I knew I wanted my child to be safe. I also didn’t want to waste my time. So they prepped me for a c section and gave me a bag of IV ezithromycin (sp?) which I had an allergic reaction to (never has happened in my life- I’ve taken z pack before fine) then I had the spinal block done and my blood pressure hit the floor. It also dropped my
daughters heart rate so my c section then turned into an emergency c section. When my doctor started cutting- she realized my placenta had detached. She got my daughter out within 40 seconds which saved her life. Nora Grace came into this world at 10:49am holding my placenta (her tiny home) like a rattle! When I was in recovery, my doctor explained everything that had happened and why they had to move so quickly. I’m a FTM so I had no clue what was going on. The reason I never dilated was because my pelvis was too narrow and my daughter couldn’t fit through (she was 6lbs 12oz so little baby) and my doctor also explained that if I wouldn’t have chosen c section; if I wouldn’t have been in that OR when I was- my daughter would have died and I could have too. After 3 losses in a year, she’s the miracle I prayed for. She was the one we were meant to hold and keep forever in our arms. I’m so thankful for every sleepless night because even though I’m exhausted beyond belief- I know that everything could have changed within 40 seconds ❤️
