Boyfriend Never Calling?
Current high school senior in a relationship with a college freshmen (1 hour away). He's been pretty busy as an undeclared trying to get into an impacted major, which puts lots of pressure since he needs to earn a good GPA to transfer in.
Anyways, I only see him twice a month or so and the rest of the time is spent apart. We text frequently (mostly just mindless texts), and he calls once a week or less for around five minutes when walking to a class.
It's been a consistent issue that I feel hurt because of the lack of calls (I'm a very attached person), especially when I see him constantly hanging out with friends, playing games, watching movies, etc. Whenever this comes up, he explains that he's been busy and stays up studying late at night for his classes (I can't recall what he says when I bring up the points of doing other things like hanging with others). We typically end these conversations with me apologizing and saying I'll lower my expectations, but I genuinely don't know if I can. I can ignore this for a few weeks at time, but whenever I start to think about it, it really gets to me.
I just feel bad whenever he says he's busy, so I tell him I'll just try harder to not care -- but it doesn't work. I don't want to continue to ask though, because I've already asked him to become more affectionate and other things.
Am I in the wrong for wanting him to call more often? I'm not sure how to stop expecting so much either. :(
