When should I switch to adult food?

I have an Australian Shepherd border collie mix who will be one February 21st. He was weighed a couple weeks ago and was 49 pounds so I’m sure he’s about 49 to 52 now. I’m just now switching him from Fromm puppy to nutro puppy food and was planning on buying more food soon. The bag I bought should last until about March so should I buy another bag of puppy food or go ahead and start buying adult food?

Dogs should be on puppy food til theyre 2 yrs. It's better for their development. And this is information from a vet and it's what my family has always done. There is "1+ puppy food" for after they turn 1 also.

we switched at 1 year mark. took it slow. blended puppy food in with the adult food then once the puppy food was gone his belly was used to the adult food. it's like a baby with formula.

We always switch to adult at the one year mark so I would start incorporating the adult mixed with puppy when she turns 1
