Never knew anyone who caused dangerous high speed crashes due to weed (although dont drive while high ever). Never knew someone who beat their family due to weed. Never knew people who got liver damage and other health issues due to weed. 
Weed helps with medical issues and is almost impossible to realistically overdose on. It can have its dangers like paranoia, bad reactions and leading addicts to drive harder more dangerous drugs. So I wouldnt say everyone should smoke or consume weed, but its much better than alcohol.

At work I see a lot more people dying of liver disease from alcohol than anything related to marijuana.
