What would you do???

Question

My mum just keeps presuming things without asking what I want - basically just saying things as facts like they're going to happen. Today she was talking about what she will be like during the birth. However, I think I just want it to be me and my husband. I love her to bits but she is very dramatic and says things without thinking- I'm not sure I could deal with that during labour.  Any advice???

Don’t tell her you’re in labor until you’ve had the baby...

I agree with the others. My mom lives in her own world when it comes to this stuff. She assumed she’d be the person to hold my son when he was born and when I was in recovery after the emergency c-section and his dad said no, Mandi went through all this, she’s the one who gets to hold him for the first time, she lost it. She even stole trinkets from the nicu because she thought I might want them 🤣🤣
Anyway, I learned my lesson after that. This is no time for someone else’s drama.

Just tell her straight up only hubby will be at the birth. Don’t tell her when your in labor so she isn’t tempted to show up.

MIL is like that. She thinks shes going to be showing up at the hospital as soon as im in labor and be waiting the whole time. Even after i told her that were not going to let visitors in for at least a few hours after birth so me and hubby can have time to rest and have our time with our child. 
She works for the school system and has like 6 weeks worth of paid vacation saved up. She keeps trying to get me to agree to her taking it all off so she can stay with us after birth. 
So we arent telling her anything until after birth.

My mom came to help out when my 1st daughter was born (because we also have a cat and a dog at home who need food/potty breaks). When it was time to go to the hospital she went with us, but when I went in to L&D I just told her I don't want her in there. Since Andrew "put me into this mess" he was going to be the one to help me out of it. Plus, I don't want her seeing me pooping and water breaking and all that jazz. Haha So she went out and called my dad and everyone letting them know I was in labor and they all drove down (it's about a 2 hour drive). When baby was finally born (19 hours later 😪), the nurses gave us an hour or 2 of just us time with baby. Andrew did tell them she was born (and the hospital plays those little songs), but we weren't letting anyone back yet. They came in right before we were moved to recovery. Got some newborn snuggles, helped us carry our stuff to recovery and got me some raw fish sushi. 😂 I think my in-laws are planning to be around this time and I'm gonna lose it-they're talking about not going to their nieces wedding so they can be there just in case she comes 2 days early and I'm not okay with that, but my husband won't talk to them to see if that's the case or not 😒 he says let them do what they want-i already know my parents are going to try to stay for a couple of days as it is. That is going to be WAY too much for me to deal with-both sets of parents, a toddler, a newborn and our pets, and the husband...😪😟😠 Baby is due April 8, and I'm already planning on Easter being at our house, and a sprinkle for friends to visit the week after that.
