papsmear during pregnant,is it safe?!

hi guys! im 24weeks now and my ob required me to have papsmear..is it safe for me and for my baby?
anyone there having some doubts too?

I had a pap at 16 weeks and I was totally fine. With my first child I had like 3 paps and she is totally fine.

The pap is to make sure your not carrying any infections or anything that will harm the baby it's safe the won't do anything to harm u , sometimes u may have some spotting after the nurse told me but she said it's not from the baby It's just your cervix is sensitive to its from the pap , good luck

Your OB would not request a procedure if it had the risk of harming your child. Pap smears are safe during pregnancy and if I remember correctly needed to ascertain whether you are healthy to give birth (ie. strep B free).

it's safe but my OB said they just don't do some of what they do when you're not pregnant, and they're more careful not to agitate the cervix too much... that kind of thing...

My doctor said it's safe, but told me not not worry about it while pregnant as I was due for one towards the end of my pregnancy so just waited until after baby was born to have it.
