How would you pronounce “Arielle” if you saw the name written?

We are naming our daughter Arielle but every time I tell someone her name they pronounce it like Ariel, the little mermaid lol I’m wondering if we are making it too complicated or if these people are just not getting it 🤔 my other daughter’s name is Elia (El-ee-a) and half my family still has trouble with it 🤦🏽‍♀️

Girl im having the same issue but the only difference is one letter! Its Ariella 😂 and people still pronounce it "air"re-ella... to me Ari sounds like "Are" re? Right?? So idk where "air" re comes from ! Its an absolutely gorgeous name so keep it!

I have a friend with this same pronunciation and spelling and she says it’s “how Sebastian says it” because of his accent 😂. Anyone who knows the movie will get the reference.

This is my cousin's name and she pronounces it Are-E-elle like Sebastian says in the movie, but hardly anyone pronounces it correctly. Even my grandma calls her Air-E-elle like the mermaid. She gets annoyed sometimes, but is pretty much used to it. With this name, I think you're just going to have to accept that most people will get it wrong, especially on the first try just because of the Little Mermaid. 🤷‍♀️

For me, it would depend on the last name how i would pronounce it lol. If it was a latina sounding last name I would pronounce it AHH-EEE-EL. otherwise I would pronounce it AIR-EEL

To add: I’m realizing now that all my white family members are the ones saying it like “Ariel” but truly that is the more masculine pronunciation (at least for Hispanics) so her name really should be pronounced “Ar-ee-el” 🤣 I think I solved my own problem lol
