So... I’ve been sick this week and my husband is away for work leaving me home with a 3 year old and a 9 month old. It’s been hard keeping up with both of them (I totally underestimated the convenience of my husband just holding the baby while I do other stuff). Anyway, today was particularly trying. My infant has been clingy and fussy and my toddler has been pushing limits all day and not listening. I gave her warnings and time outs but she still continued misbehaving... well at around the baby’s bedtime I was trying to get baby to sleep and kept trying to get my toddler to be quiet (yeah right). I gave her a snack, put a cartoon on for her, and firmly told her the baby’s room was off limits but, of course, right as the baby falls asleep guess who comes bursting through the bedroom door? You guessed it! My toddler... baby wakes ALL THE WAY UP and I lost it. I put the baby in her crib and gave my toddler a spanking on the spot. Well... now that the baby is asleep and my toddler is in bed I feel guilty about spanking her. 😩 she really is a sweet kid and I know she acts out because she’s jealous since we had another baby...
