Should you ever believe a drunk person?

My boyfriend got drunk after a military ball and he said "I love you" and "I'm afraid to lose you" but he doesn't remember ever saying it. He didn't deny them but he also tried to change the subject. I've never dealt with this before. Was it probably false or possible true?

It really depends, most times I do believe what a drunk person says as most people loosen up enough to say something or do something they wouldn't while sober.

I was in the military and dealt with a lot of guys who cry when they’re drunk, especially before deployment.
