What are you putting in crib?

I only bought crib sheets, but now my mom says I need bedding. I thought the bedding was bad and could cause sids???

I have the whole bedding set and it’s all on now, to look pretty, but once she starts sleeping in her crib, she will only sleep with the fitted sheet on and nothing else.

That probably just because when she was raising kids baby’s slept with bedding, blankets and stuff animals because they didn’t know better yet. I’ve noticed my MIL expects everything to be like when she had kids. 🤷🏻‍♀️ in my mind if they aren’t going to use the bedding it’s not worth the money.

You don't need bedding right now, unless she wants to get it for you for you to use when baby is older. you'll end up swaddling baby more than likely, and you are correct that lose blankets are a risk for sids.

Oh, crap, I hit the wrong option! 🤦🏼‍♀️ I'm only gonna use a sheet and then baby sleeps in a special sleeping bag that can't move over his mouth and face. No stuffed animals or anything else in the bedside crib!

A fitted sheet is all you need. With my firstborn we never actually bought bedding for the crib. After having her sleep with just a fitted sheet and sleep sack for the first year based on the SIDS recommendations, she had gotten so used to it that she didn’t like blankets or pillows in her bed, so we just kept it like that until she got a toddler bed. We then went straight to regular bedding. She is 3.5 now and just now starting to tolerate a pillow in her bed. I’m glad I didn’t spend $100+ on expensive crib bedding that I would have never used.

We only do a fitted sheet as it’s safest for baby. Especially such young ones who can’t move objects away from their face. For warmth we have sleep sacks/bags! We love those so much! Keeps babe nice and warm and safe.
