Copper iud experiences?

Question

I was advised against getting the iud before having a baby, but now that I've had my daughter, I want a non hormonal birth control option. 
What have your experiences been with the copper iud after having a baby?

After my first baby I got thw copper IUD and it was totally not for me. Would bleed excesively and had horrible cramps. When I would get intimate with my partner it would also hurt. I had it removed a year after and went with the pill instead. This time around Im going to tey the Mirena.

I chose the Mirena so far so good at least it’s been almost a week tho but when discussing birth control my gynecologist said he didn’t recommend the copper iuds or the iuds that went into your arms

My sister has it and hates it. Very heavy, painful, and frequent periods.

I got it just after my 6 week appointment and haven’t had any issues. I go back in a month to get it checked out, my OB said on the rare occasion that there’s an issue, it’ll happen in the first month. I also had the Mirena IUD for a couple years before getting pregnant.  Wanted the non hormonal this time because I’m breastfeeding.    Getting it put it wasn’t painful at all just a little uncomfortable for a second.  I bled a little that day, had sex a few days after and did have decent bleeding for a few days after that.
