As a first time mom I have a lot to learn. I have a newborn (5days old) I’m feeding her formula and breast milk, until I can produce more milk and stop formula. But today she has been having what looks like diarrhea! Should i be worried?or is this normal?

Not normal 5 days old shouldn’t look like that I gave a book with all the poop types my daughter is breastfed though but none of her diapers looked like that at 5 days old

I would keep an eye. If she produces more than one diaper like this I would consider going to ER only because of how young she is. This doesn’t look like a normal bowel movement for a 5 day old. I’m also used to breastfed poop so I may be wrong. Not sure what formula poop looks like.

That is not normal poop for a 5 day old. If it continues then you should take her to the ER. Take her in ASAP because newborns could easily and very quick like get dehydrated for having diarrea like that.

If you want to increase your supply to breastfeed, stop formula unless you’ve been advised by a doctor to use it. Tiny babies need to latch and suck to increase your supply so if you replace with formula, your supply won’t meet what baby needs. It’ll seem like you’re feeding 24/7 and baby is always hungry but cluster feeding is totally normal and the only way to tell your body to produce more milk
