Anyone ever worked in daycare?
Okay so I don’t have to worry about this anymore because I’m nannying in someone’s home. But this is something that irked me. I went from 3 star daycare to 2star. At first I got in trouble for not filling out diaper logs. I was changing diapers and writing it on the daily sheets but not on the diaper log because I didn’t even know that was a thing. Nobody told me about it.
I had never heard of diaper logs in my life and I worked for 4 years in a different daycare. Of course, we had daily sheets and we wrote down every diaper change on those and feedings/naps/activities. Diaper logs are a separate sheet for the daycare only, to prove that you changed diapers. Which I don’t understand because you could literally write it down even when you didn’t do it and I promise you people have done that before. It’s a way for the daycare to cover its own butt. We did not ever have those at my first daycare. When I started they never told me about them and assumed I would know to do them since I had worked in daycare for so long.
When I told them I didn’t even know what they were talking about and had never heard of a diaper log they acted like I was lying and asked again what daycare I came from and told me that they couldn’t have been a 3 Star without having diaper logs. I’m not saying who’s right and wrong. I’m just wondering if you’ve ever worked in a daycare and had diaper logs. I had never seen or heard of them at my old daycare. Im pretty sure if it was a necessity at my old daycare they would have told me in those whole 4 years.
