Brown discharge?

Question

Why does brown discharge after sex happen? I’m guessing it’s normal? Can sex cause the uterus to push out a little bit of old blood?

Answer

This happened to me and it was bleeding. I found out when I finally had a Pap smear that I actually had an HPV infection and that’s why it was hurting and I was bleeding or having brown discharge after sex. I had high grade strains and I had to get the HPV vaccine and get Pap smears every 6 months until my results came back negative for abnormal cells. I also had two colposcopies (biopsies that they used to remove the small area of abnormal cells and test them) during that time. Anyway, long story short, Be sure to be safe and use condoms. Usually bleeding after sex is a sign of an infection or something. 
*I also had a 3rd colposcopy in August 2017 even though the Pap smear they gave me just before the 2017 colposcopy came back negative. They still did the procedure just in case.
