Sorry for the long post. I can finally share my crazy birth story. I was almost a week overdue and scheduled for an induction on Tuesday 1/29. Saturday night 1/26 I went to labor and delivery cause I thought my water broke and I was having contractions about every 4-5 minutes, they test me and my water did not break and contractions weren't strong enough so they sent me home. I wake up the next morning and my belly had significantly dropped but I wasn't really having contractions so I went on with my day. We decided to go to the mall to walk around to get things going, like 5 minutes before we get there I was like I need to go to the bathroom I feel a little wetness, we park the car and I try to get out and here comes a huge gush so I tell hubby it's time to head to the hospital cause baby is coming. We get to the hospital at 3:30 they check me in and get me admitted around 4 and they start their exam. I was 4 cm, 80% effaced and baby was at a -2 station so they were like ok you're not going home but get comfortable cause you're gonna be here for a while, baby probably won't be here for another 8-10 hours since it was my first. So I'm just laying there feeling the contractions start to get stronger but the doctor said they wanted them more consistent so they were going to start Pitocin. That was started around 5:45 pm, about 10 minutes later I was feeling the contractions so strongly and they were 2 minutes apart, I thought I was going to need the epidural(I wanted to go natural). At 6 I feel like I need to push and I have a bowel movement while trying not to push, the nurses tell me my doctor isn't there yet so try not to push too much. I tell them I can't wait this baby is coming now so they decide to check me and I am 10 cm and baby is crowning so they finally realize he's coming with or without my doctor there lol. I start pushing at 6:18 pm and with 3 pushes later at 6:25 pm baby was here. Everyone was so shocked how fast things went for it being my first baby. He swallowed too much fluid and maybe even a little meconium as he was being born so they are monitoring him in the NICU but everything is looking good. Thank you for reading my story and good luck to any January mamas who are still waiting for their little one!
