I have been separated from my sons father for over a year now. We have tried to co-parent without any legal papers but it’s no longer working. He has him fri-sun. But he constantly pawns him off on friends or whoever. And when I ask that he be brought home at a certain time Sunday he can’t follow that. He yells and degrades me over the phone in front of our son. I feel terrible but I don’t see any other way. I can’t live under his thumb any longer. I have to do what’s best for my boy. I just feel like there is no where to get any advice about filling out these papers. I can’t afford a lawyer. I can barely swing the $260 it costs to file. And I’m scared that he will keep my son after being served with the papers. Idk I guess I just need some advice from ppl that have been through this. I’m not trying to take my son away or keep him from seeing his father. Just trying to establish some balance in his life again.
