First period after miscarriage

I had a miscarriage dec 27th. HCG level was at 47 this past Friday. I have had brown spotting for about week now and today I’ve had some red blood. I am thinking AF is finally starting. For cycle tracking purposes and ovulation tests what day do I count as day 1? Today or when the brown spotting started?!
