Swim lessons? Anyone signing up their babys ?

I’m thinking of it. I’m a terrible swimmer and I’d like her to be way more comfortable in the water than I am. Lol and they say it’s so much easier for them to start learning even before they’re 1 years old.

Most classes do not start until after 3 months.  
My oldest had a swim safety class this last summer.  I want to do the same thing again this year, but need to figure out how I’m going to do that with two 🤔

I’m waiting until 6 months. Mainly because the swimming instructor here won’t start until then. I’m guessing head control.

Baby Eli started the week he turned 3 months, more for fun right now but everyone at the class tells me it’s much better to put them in the water early so they don’t fear it later on when they actually start swimming. A lot of the kids in the class already cry from fear. So I’m happy I decided to start at the allowed age 3 months in the program.

We have been debating taking her at four months or waiting until six or older.

I would if I had a pool or if we were around water a lot. I think it's probably a skill you need to practice in order to keep. But I'm signing my older son up for two year old lessons this fall!

I used to teach, I used to feel so guilty because I did the same things over and over just in different order for lessons. At my pool the session length is 10 lessons and I always thought it was too much. As long as parents take their babies/toddlers swimming often, I don’t see much point for lessons until age like 2.  Taking her swimming for the first time later on this week!

My local ymca does swim lessons at 6 months old so that’s when we are going!
