Makena injections

So my OB prescribed Makena (progesterone shots) bc my first pregnancy my daughter was born prematurely... I guess im just here for reassurance on the matter. Im very nervous. Has anyone ever had to use this medication? Generic brand or name brand? What side effects did you go through? Did it work? And if so then when was baby born?
